大分県国東市の豊かな自然をモチーフに、国東に住むガラス職人がひとつひとつ手作りしてきた
「国東ガラスペン」コレクション。多くのお客様に愛されてきたこのコレクションは、
残念ながら新たな作品をご紹介できなくなってしまいました。

しかし、国東のガラス職人が積み上げてきた芸術性、技術、インスピレーションを
今後も引き継ぎ守っていきたいと考えています。
そこで、今回その志を引き継いでくれる職人を探した結果、国東から遠い地、
香港で見つけることが出来ました。

これまでの国東ガラスペンを引き継ぎながら、新しく生まれ変わった「国東ガラスペン」を
ご紹介いたします。

多くのガラスペンは、軸部分とペン先部分を分けて作成し、最後に溶接することで完成します。
しかし、この国東ガラスペンは1つのガラスの塊から作られています。ガラスの塊を成形し、
ペン先から軸まで1本のペンを完成させるためには職人の高い技術力を必要とします。
また、継ぎ目がないのでより品質が高く、丈夫な仕上がりになっています。

ガラスペンの軸は花や金粉で美しい自然を表現しています。見た目の美しさをお楽しみください。

【ブルーローズ】
かつては不可能だった"青いバラ"を改良を重ね誕生させたことから、
ブルーローズには"夢が叶う"という花言葉に変化しました。

もちろんデザインだけではなく、ガラスの塊から丁寧に成形され完成したペン先は滑らかな書き心地に
仕上げられています。
国東ガラスペンの字幅はF（細字）からM（中字）の間となります。
万年筆や他のガラスペンと同様に様々な紙で筆記可能です。

ガラスペンは、万年筆やボールペンのようなインクを内蔵したペンではなく、
羽ペンや、Gペンのように、インクをつけて使用する、つけペンの一種となります。
構造は、ペン先のガラスの側面に溝があり、インクに浸すと毛細管現象によって
ペン先のいくつかの細い溝にインクを吸い上げ補充します。
一般の金属製のペンと比べ、インクの持ちがよく、筆記距離は意外と長くかけます。

「ガラスペンの使い方」
1.インク瓶の中にペン先をまっすぐにして底に当てないように浸します。
2.ガラスペンの溝にインクがしみ込んだらペン先を軽く瓶のフチでぬぐいます。
3.ぺん先を紙の上に置き、力を抜いて、インクを流すように優しく書く！

「ペン先を洗う時は！」
インクの色を変えたい！時間がたってインクが乾てしまった！などの場合
まず、ペン先を洗浄してください。
紙コップなどにぬるま湯を入れ、その中にペン先を浸し、ペン先をくるくる回すと
綺麗にさらっと洗えます。
そのあとティッシュなどで濡れたペン先を優しくふき取ればOKです。

「ガラスペンを使うポイント！」
ペン先を少し寝かせるぐらい斜めに持ち、筆圧をかけずガラスペンの重さで
インクが流れるようにするーっと書くことです。
