今回ご紹介する商品は、WANCHERの銘木シリーズ「世界樹万年筆ベラウッド」に
WANCHERが開発製造し、ニブシェイパー長原氏の手によって仕上げられた特殊ニブ、
「渓流～KEIRYU」ニブがセットされた、特別カスタマイズ商品となります。
展示会で試し書き用に使用されたものとなります。

「長原幸夫氏調整渓流ニブ」
このペン先から流れ出るインクの文字や絵はまるで渓流の流れのよう。

雪解けの水滴が集まり
山の岩肌から流れ出す
やがて細い流れがひとつになり
新緑の中をゆるやかに進む
ときには岩に弾かれるように向きを変え、
まるで生き物のように動きを止めない渓流となって美しく輝く

書くひとの気持ちや想いをインクとしてさらさらと
変幻自在に表現してくれるとっておきのニブなのです。
何十年もニブに向き合ってこられた職人の熟練技術だからこそできる技で、
ワンチャーの長年の夢が叶いました。

心地よい書き味
ペン先を紙に置いた瞬間から、まるで“水面をすべるアメンボのように
”スーと線がひけます。このとき、手は万年筆を支えて水平移動するだけ。
ペン先のポイントに設けられた特徴的な山形状。
これを一つ一つ日本の職人が丹念に調整し、
微細なヤスリで矢尻のようにじっくり仕上げていきます。

まるで米粒に文字を書くようなミクロの世界だからこそ、
手作業でしかできない技なのです。このペン先で書いた文字は美しく、
格好よく、ときに愛嬌たっぷりと、その時のシーンに合わせ見事に表現できます。

潤沢なインクの出を兼ね備えたこの KEIRYU ニブは、
細く凛とした線や太く力強い線をペン先の角度によって生み出します。
それぞれの線を一つの文字としてシームレスに繋ぎ合わせるには、
少々慣れが必要かもしれません。ぜひ、しばらく KEIRYU ニブで遊んでみてください。
使いこなすことでより楽しさが増し、自由に操れるようになれば

世界樹（せかいじゅ）とは、インド・ヨーロッパ、シベリア、ネイティブアメリカンなど
あちこちの国々で語られるの神話の中に登場する木のことです。

世界中が、一本の大きな木で繋がっているというもので世界樹は天を支え、
天界と地上、さらに根や幹を通して地下世界もしくは冥界に通じているという神話です。
世界中に同様の神話が存在します。世界が一つにつながり平和でありたいという思いは、
遠い昔から世界共通なのだと感じます。

WANCHERは、世界中が垣根なくつながり、平和になることを願って世界樹という、
世界の木々を材料とした、万年筆を作りました。

この、「世界樹万年筆」を生み出したのは、台湾の山の中にこもって、
木の彫刻を作り続けている洪明華氏の協力があってこそでした。
工業機械を使わず、原木から木製万年筆を縦に削り出すことにより
美しい形状の万年筆を作り出してきた、彫刻家洪明華氏の協力の元　
この万年筆は生まれました。

彼が作り出した形状を基に工業NC旋盤を用い、横回転転する、
木棒からの削り出しによる木製万年筆製作を試みました。
旋盤を用いることで、同様の形状のモデルを複数作り出すことが可能となります。
もちろんそれには、木工旋盤加工には、熟練した職人の技術が必要となります。
彫刻家、木材加工職人など、様々な方の協力のもと生まれたのが、この「世界樹万年筆」です。

キャップとボディの直径ロ長さ、エンドの絞り、手になじむ大きさとデザインのバランス、
今まで目にしてきた万年筆とは、ちょっと異なります。
均整とアンバランスが、自然の中の木々の枝のように存在します。
一本の木の棒なのに何故か惹きつけられるのは、そのためです。

木の質感と美しい形状を、指先から伝わる感触で楽しんでほしい。
そのために、一本の木の塊から、時には大胆に時には繊細に、丁寧に形状を削り出す
作業が、何度も繰り返されました。そして完成した、誰もがふと手に取りたくなる造形。
表面は細かなヤスリで徹底的に研磨され、
硬い木独特のシルクのような滑らかな感触に仕上げられます。
薄く墨を流したような木目の模様。自然が生み出す美です。

今回出品させていただくのはのは「緑檀(ベラウッド)」です。
この木の芯材は黒色に近い濃緑褐色で、極めて硬く緻密で最も重い材の一つです。
樹脂を多く含み空気含有量が少ないので水に沈みます。
経年変化により濃緑褐色となり、印鑑や数珠、ステッキなどに加工されます。
天然木ですので、同じ素材でも緑檀（ベラウッド）色が様々ございます。
